The Fountaine Pajot Group has launched Vélite, an international brokerage network for pre-owned yachts, alongside the Nextsail certification label for eligible pre-owned Fountaine Pajot and Dufour models.

Vélite’s network is based on more than 150 Fountaine Pajot and Dufour distributors worldwide.

“Thanks to Vélite, we are opening a new chapter in the history of the Fountaine Pajot Group,” says Erwan Taulois, CEO of Vélite. “Our ambition has always been to help sailors achieve their dreams. Today, we are taking that commitment one step further by supporting them throughout every stage of their yacht’s lifecycle. With Vélite and the Nextsail label, we are bringing a new level of excellence, confidence and professionalism to the pre-owned market, reflecting the values that have built the reputation of our brands.”

According to the company, the pre-owned market accounts for around 87 per cent of yacht transactions in France. It also says more than 30 million recreational boats are currently in operation worldwide, with more than 6 million based in European waters.

The company describes the brokerage market as fragmented, with standards and customer experience varying between countries and brokers. Vélite, it says, has been introduced with a common operating framework intended to provide greater consistency across its network.

The brokerage offering is built around three areas: visibility through an international sales network; professional guidance and secure transactions; and common standards across participating markets. The company says the aim is to support owners throughout the ownership cycle, from purchase to resale.

Vélite offers four brokerage services

Nextsail Premium is an exclusive 12-month brokerage mandate for Fountaine Pajot and Dufour yachts that are less than seven years old and have not been used for charter. Certified yachts include a 12-month warranty.

Nextsail Integral is an exclusive 12-month brokerage mandate for Fountaine Pajot and Dufour yachts less than seven years old that have previously been used for charter. Certified yachts include a six-month warranty.

Vélite Comfort is an exclusive 12-month mandate available for yachts of any brand. It includes professional photography, a 360-degree virtual tour and an independent survey.

Vélite Essential is a non-exclusive brokerage mandate for all brands, allowing owners to market their yacht while making use of the Vélite brokerage network.

Nextsail is a certification label available exclusively for eligible pre-owned Fountaine Pajot and Dufour yachts. To qualify, yachts must meet defined eligibility requirements, undergo an independent survey by a qualified marine surveyor and include a dedicated warranty. The company says the same certification standards apply across all participating markets.
