Italian audio manufacturer Elettromedia is entering the leisure marine market with the launch of a dedicated Audison Marine Division, using this year’s Cannes Yachting Festival as the platform for its expansion. The move sees the company bring its established automotive audio brand into the marine sector with a full range of speakers, amplifiers, source units and control systems designed specifically for boats.
The new division will make its public debut during the Cannes Yachting Festival, taking place from 8-13 September, where Elettromedia will exhibit at stand PAN 112.
Automotive audio expertise moves into marine
Founded in 1987 in Potenza Picena, Italy, Elettromedia develops and manufactures audio systems for the automotive, marine, powersports and professional audio sectors. The company says it operates in 72 countries through its Audison, Hertz and Lavoce brands, with research, engineering, manufacturing and distribution carried out in-house.
The launch of the Audison Marine Division marks the company’s latest expansion into the marine market, building on experience developed in automotive audio.
Full marine product range launches at Cannes
The first products from the new division will be the Thesis range, which includes:
- 7.7-inch and 8.8-inch coaxial speakers
- 10-inch and 12-inch subwoofers
- DSP amplifiers
- Digital source units
- Control interfaces
Elettromedia says INTEGRA versions will also be available for installations designed to integrate with yacht interiors.
Hi-res audio certification
Elettromedia says the new platform has received hi-res audio certification from the Japan Audio Society.
According to the company, Audison is currently the only marine audio brand offering complete audio systems certified to the hi-res audio standard with the certification covering audio systems capable of reproducing frequencies up to 40kHz.
Designed for the marine environment
The company says the new products feature a double-wave grille designed to help disperse sound in open spaces while reducing water retention and salt deposits. Other specifications include up to 1,000 hours of salt fog resistance and IP65 rating for protection against dust and water jets.
