Southern Ropes UK is expanding into a new warehouse and operational facility in Gosport, Hampshire, on the UK south coast.
Founded as a family-run business, Southern Ropes UK is one of the UK’s largest stockholders of commercial and professional rope products, with more than 2,000 product lines. It supplies customers across sectors including commercial and leisure marine, military and defence, rope access, energy, agriculture, heavy lifting, and film, theatre and staging.
The new site spans 41,000 sq ft, including 21,000 sq ft of warehouse and operational space. It will bring together Southern Ropes UK’s operations from two separate locations into a single facility. The company says it expects the move to increase stockholding capacity and support its long-term growth.
The move was supported by a £1.5m commercial mortgage from Barclays.
Michael Clark, sales and marketing lead at Southern Ropes UK, says: “Bringing our two sites together under one roof is a real milestone for us. We’ve outgrown our current home, and the new site gives us room to hold more stock, serve our customers faster, and keep growing for years to come.”
