Australia’s The Boat Works plans next phase of expansion

Grey office building

Superyacht facility, The Boat Works in Australia, is expanding again – this time through ‘Pier 25’ – an area that will feature premium marine showrooms and multi-level marine office space.

Construction will commence mid-2026 and completion is anticipated by the end of the year.

Home to over 100 marina businesses already, The Boat Works is aiming to elevate its multi-faceted “ecosystem” for the region’s thriving marine manufacturing, sales and service providers and is becoming a magnet for captains, crew businesses and boat owners.

In 2024, The Boat Works completed The Wharf – office premises set to accommodate up to eight yachting businesses.

“Reinvesting in The Boat Works has always been about strengthening the marine industry,” says Tony Longhurst, owner of The Boat Works. “Pier 25 represents our commitment to growth and innovation, creating premium spaces for marine businesses to thrive while enhancing the experience for boat owners and visitors alike. This is just the next step to continue to enhance The Boat Works as Australia’s if not the Southern Hemisphere’s ultimate marine destination.”

Longhurst talked to MIN about his business strategy for The Boat Works and the appetite for superyachting in the southern hemisphere.
