Yacht Beam LED.AI, part of The Yacht Group, has announced the launch of its new Yacht Beam LED Performance Series Searchlight (SRS 1000-SRS 2000). It’s a lighting system designed to improve visibility, safety and control for those navigating boats in low-light conditions or darkness.

The new series features a high-intensity LED that delivers 750,000 to 1,500,000 candlepower in spotlight mode, enabling ranges of up to 2,500 metres and a 120 metre beam diameter. In floodlight mode, the system provides between 250,000 and 350,000 candlepower, covering 200 metres with a 75 metre beam diameter.

Operating on a 12-24 VDC and producing a 600K colour temperature, the firm emphasises that the SRS series offers reliable, daylight quality lighting across a range of vessel types.

The Yacht Beam LED also introduces a portfolio of operational features. The dual optical LED system allows the two light modes to be independent or used together, while the built-in SOS distress signalling and non-lethal anti-intrusion strobe light combine for enhanced safety.

A 90-degree forward-looking sweep function can also scan from port to starboard, helping in detecting vessels, buoys, markers and other obstacles or hazards. Alongside the safety features, it can also serve as a visual locator, helping identify the vessel.

Users of the searchlight can manage all functions using an intuitive joystick controller with illuminated, colour-coded buttons for ease. The system supports multiple rotation speeds: ‘slow,’ ‘default,’ and ‘fast,’ with an elevation control range of +15 degrees to -27 degrees.

Other features include a continuous 360-degree slip-ring rotation for uninterrupted scanning, a static-on centred forward beam for alignment, an auto dimming function to preserve night vision, and automatic off-centring to protect against salt spray.

The SRS searchlight series is constructed from marine-grade aluminium, carries an IP-65 rating for water and dust resistance, and operates in temperatures from -30°C to +56°C, with thermal management technology.

Easy to install, the system is compact and ideal for vessels from 9 metres to over 30 metres. Jerry Berton, president of The Yacht Group, comments: “Every boat should have a reliable searchlight system onboard.”

“Boaters should consider the Yacht Beam SRS as a critical piece of safety equipment, even if they don’t plan to travel at night. You can find yourself at sea or in trouble after dark or in the daytime for a variety of reasons. In both expected and unexpected conditions, a Yacht beam LED SRS series is essential for reducing anxiety and ensuring safe passage and alerting rescuers immediately and without delay to your position.”
