Formula 1 driver Esteban Ocon is shifting gears from the Grand Prix circuit to luxury marine design. He’s partnering with British boatbuilder Williams Marine Group to create a custom SportJet 520 tender.
Ocon, who currently races in Formula 1 and took his first Grand Prix win in Hungary in 2021, says the partnership is a personal milestone: “I have been a big fan of the Williams Jet Tenders brand for some time having spent many holidays using their boats. It is therefore very special to be working with Williams Jet Tenders on building and customising my own boat.”
The collaboration sees Ocon appointed as an official ambassador for both Williams Jet Tenders and its sister brand, Evene Tenders. In his new role, he will work directly with the engineering and design teams at Williams to personalise his SportJet 520 — the brand’s most powerful model, featuring a high-performance Rotax engine.
Tom Dowdell, head of marketing at Williams Jet Tenders and Evene Tenders, says the relationship is about shared values. “His passion for performance, precision, and innovation mirrors our own. Seeing someone at the pinnacle of motorsport choose Williams Jet Tenders is a real testament to the quality and reputation of our products.”

Williams Jet Tenders, founded in 2004, builds over 1,000 boats annually at its Oxfordshire facility. It offers 18 different models across six ranges, including the MiniJet, TurboJet, SportJet, DieselJet, EvoJet, and SOLAS-compliant models. Each tender is hand-built and water-tested before delivery.
Evene, the more sustainability-focused sister brand, produces luxury superyacht tenders with an emphasis on low-emission fuels, eco-materials, and craftsmanship. Its Origin series can accommodate up to 13 guests and is designed for yachts over 30m.
This collaboration marks a strategic step in cross-industry partnerships, where sports figures bring personal brand alignment to premium consumer products.
Ocon isn’t the only F1 driver to enter the marine world. Back in 2021, F1’s Fernando Alonso commissioned a custom 60 Sunreef power eco catamaran following in the footsteps of tennis’ Rafael Nadal – whose Sunreef 80 showcased at Monaco in the same year.
