The Magenta Project, a charity driving inclusion and equity in sailing, has launched the Mighty Magenta Community Hub, a new digital platform aimed at connecting individuals and organisations within sailing and the wider marine industry.

The platform, developed by the Magenta Project, provides tools for communication and professional development. It includes an interactive newsfeed, direct messaging, access to webinars and events, curated resources, and listings of global opportunities. The Hub is accessible through desktop and mobile applications.

“This is a milestone for our community and the wider industry,” says chief executive Victoria Low. “The Mighty Magenta Community Hub brings people together in one space, ensuring no one is left out of the conversation. It’s a place where knowledge, opportunities and relationships can grow, and where we can collectively drive meaningful change.”

The Hub launches in conjunction with the 2025/26 Magenta Mentoring Programme, which connects a new group of mentees and mentors. Their participation is integrated into the platform.

The Hub also offers membership options, including the Friend of Magenta category, which provides access to the network for an annual fee of £100, with a 50 per cent discount available during the first six months.

Community memberships are available for mentors, mentees, alumni, volunteers and clinic participants. Corporate memberships are designed for organisations seeking to support equity and inclusion in the marine sector.

Memberships contribute to The Magenta Project’s broader objective of increasing women’s participation and leadership in sailing and the marine industry. Currently, women account for around 5 per cent of professional sailors and 3 per cent of the overall marine workforce.

The Hub’s launch coincides with The Magenta Project’s 2×25 Survey, which is assessing equity and inclusion across the sport and industry. The global survey collects data to identify barriers and guide strategies for improvement. Results are expected in November 2025.

Founded in 2015 by members of Team SCA from the Volvo Ocean Race, The Magenta Project operates as a charity promoting equity and inclusion through mentoring, leadership development and STEM-based initiatives.
