Speakers for the inaugural Marine Impact Lab — a forum addressing innovation, sustainability and design in the marine sector — have been confirmed by organisers.
The Marine Impact Lab is organised by consultancies Marine Futures and Foxall Munro as a one-day forum with a capacity of 100 participants. The event will take place at Metstrade in Amsterdam on Monday 17 November. Tickets are €150.
Speakers confirmed for the product and design panel to date are: Will Hopes (BAR Technologies), Alessandro Stagni (Northern Lights Composites), Etienne Le Pen (Kairos), and Moritz Möker (Holy Technologies). Discussions will focus on topics such as circular materials, sustainable design and approaches to innovation.
A further announcement will outline the speakers for the events and organisational change panel.

The event is structured around two tracks: the Product Track, led by Marine Futures, and the Organisational Track, led by Foxall Munro. Both aim to provide practical frameworks and case studies to address business and technical challenges across the sector.
Ollie Taylor, director at Marine Futures, says: “This calibre of speakers makes the Marine Impact Lab a focal point for our sector. These are the organisations shaping the future of how we design, build and operate on the water, and for the first time, they’ll be in the same room working through solutions together.”
Marine Futures, which created the MarineShift360 lifecycle assessment tool, has worked with organisations including BAR Technologies. BAR Technologies is applying MarineShift360 through its Impact Accelerator Programme to evaluate and refine the WindWings system.
The methodology has been applied elsewhere. Williams Jet Tenders claims to have reduced operational waste by 21 per cent, North Sails says it invested in solar capacity saving 600 tonnes of carbon annually, and Starboard’s Olympic windsurf concept is said to have cut emissions by 19 per cent through lower-impact materials.
Marine Impact Lab will present these examples to participants as part of the programme.

Amy Munro, co-founder of Foxall Munro, says: “As a community, we have long studied the barriers and enablers. Now, as a collective, we hold the tools to drive measurable change, and powerful industry case studies to prove what’s possible. Attendees will leave these sessions equipped with contextualised, data-informed insights on impact reduction, and a clear strategic roadmap to turn ambitions into reality with lasting impact.”
Foxall Munro’s Sustainability Toolbox is used by more than 950 professionals in 95 sectors, including the Australian Olympic Committee, to embed long-term sustainability strategies across organisations.
The Marine Impact Lab is supported by 11th Hour Racing, Metstrade, Northern Lights Composites, St. Maarten Heineken Regatta, ICOMIA and World Sailing.
