Finnish boatbuilder Saxdor is launching its AI-driven platform, Saxdor AI, at Cannes Yachting Festival 2025 next week.
Designed to act as an AI-powered co-skipper, Saxdor AI can guide owners through features of their boat, usage information and provide tailored support. According to Saxdor, it should evolve proactively to anticipate needs before questions even arise.
Saxdor first revealed it was piloting the AI platform at boot Düsseldorf 2025, and the shipyard claims Saxdor AI is the marine industry’s first AI-driven experience platform.
From September 2025, Saxdor AI will be available on MySaxdor app across select Saxdor models: the 340 GTWA, 400 GTO, and 400 GTC.
The platform is designed to provide guidance, support, and practical tips without the need to contact a dealer.
From routine checks like fuel and power to onboard comfort, Saxdor claims Saxdor AI – developed in collaboration with Finnish AI company Cadentia – can streamline every task and unifies all aspects of the boat into one intelligent system.
“A world-class boating experience goes way beyond the boat itself. It is about the ease, confidence, and enjoyment. While consumers have become familiar with AI-powered features in apps in many areas of their lives, boating has long lacked this kind of seamless experience,” says Erna Rusi, CEO of Saxdor Yachts. “With Saxdor AI, we’re bringing the same intuitive, connected experiences into the world of boating, allowing our customers to focus on what truly matters: the pure joy of being on the water.”
Tatu Heikkilä, CEO and co-founder of Cadentia, says: “Saxdor is the first in leisure boating to offer its owners a dedicated AI companion of this caliber, a tool designed exclusively for their journey on the water. It’s a powerful example of how brands can harness AI to guide, inspire, and build trust with customers at every step, creating ongoing connections instead of just reacting to frustration. Saxdor is showing what it means to truly put owners first, giving them an experience no other boatmaker currently provides.”
To meet growing demand, Saxdor Yachts opened a new shipyard in Larsmo, Finland in August 2024.
Saxdor is also utilising digital technology when it comes to showroom experience. The boatbuilder has launched its Digital Showroom, developed by Finnish technology company Younite AI. Leveraging AI and digital twin technology, this photorealistic platform allows customers and dealers to explore the fleet in an immersive environment with day-and-night reflections, detailed interior and exterior views, and real-time configuration. Powered by highly detailed 3D modelling, Saxdor says the showroom provides an accuracy and depth that traditional configurators cannot match. With Saxdor AI available, customers can also ask practical questions, such as whether air conditioning can be added to a specific boat, and receive instant, tailored answers. The Digital Showroom lets users visualise, customise, and order their boats directly.
“Digital twin-based experiences are becoming an essential part of both the buying journey and client care. With this, companies can now let customers explore, configure, and even commit to products before they are physically manufactured. What Saxdor is doing is a true step into the future of commerce,” says Afa Heikkinen, CEO of Younite AI.
