Dolce Vento sinks

The newly built superyacht M/Y Dolce Vento has reportedly sunk just minutes after its launch at Medyılmaz Shipyard in Ereğli, Zonguldak, Turkey, according to videos circulating online.

The incident occurred yesterday (2 September 2025) at approximately 2.30pm local time, with videos showing the 24-metre vessel capsizing shortly after entering the water.

Local reports suggest Dolce Vento developed a stabilisation issue about 15 minutes after launch, causing it to take on water and sink to a depth of seven metres. It’s understood that, at the time of the launch, the yacht’s owner, captain and two crew members were on board. As the vessel began to capsize, all four managed to escape by jumping into the water and were rescued by nearby shipyard workers.
