Seldén has introduced the E40rev, a reversible electric winch that operates in two directions and offers two selectable speeds.
The model is making its public debut at boot Düsseldorf 2026, which runs until 25 January, where it is on display at the Seldén stand in Hall 10, Stand E21. The E40rev is positioned within the company’s electrically powered deck hardware portfolio and is intended for sail-handling applications across a range of sailing yachts.
Operation of the winch is managed through push-button controls, with the line remaining engaged in both the self-tailer and back-tailer during use. Adjustment in either direction is carried out with hands kept clear of the line and winch drum. The unit is based on Seldén’s patented ART winch drum, which is designed to provide a consistent grip and allows the winch to be operated manually in the event of a power failure. As with other electrically powered products in the range, the E40rev is driven by the 42V SEL-Bus system.
The E40rev is scheduled to be available from spring 2026. Seldén has also confirmed that larger winch models using the same reversible concept are planned for release later in the year.
The recommended retail price is €2,800 excluding VAT, with the SEL-Bus control box and power supply unit supplied separately.
