Just a few months after debuting its prototype, Opac’s Rolling Sun Awning has been selected by three leading Italian shipyards. The innovative ‘concealed’ shading solution has been chosen by three prominent Italian shipyards for installation on the Luxia Yacht 375 GTS, Custom Line Navetta 42 and Riva 66 Ribelle.
While differing in style and scale, each of the three yachts shares a common goal: to incorporate an elegant and functional shading solution that enhances onboard comfort without compromising design. Reflecting its tailor-made design approach, Opac has adapted the Rolling Sun Awning to meet the specific spatial and technical needs of each vessel.
The Rolling Sun Awning, or articulated-arm awning, is the result of Opac’s technical and aesthetic research. Designed to be discreet and invisible when closed, it delivers high performance once deployed. Thanks to an electric mechanism, it can be extended as required by the owner and, at the end of use, both the fabric and the arms automatically retract into a dedicated, compact housing – preserving the yacht’s clean and elegant lines.
The awning is available in a wide range of colours and fabrics. In the event of a power outage or emergency, the Rolling Sun Awning can be retracted manually through a simple operation.
Opac will be at Metstrade later this month.
Developed as a fully integrated solution, the system combines marine-grade materials with a lightweight yet durable structure, providing effective shading while preserving visibility and the open-air experience. Its movable front profile can also be equipped with integrated LED lighting, adding both practicality and ambience for evening use.
Like all Opac products, the Rolling Sun Awning is entirely designed and manufactured in Italy.
