World Boating Day returns in May 2026 for global celebration

Following its second edition in 2025, World Boating Day will return on 23 May 2026. The event, coordinated by The Superyacht Life Foundation, strives to bring together shipyards, marinas, design studios, manufacturers, and destinations for a global celebration of life on the water.

The international open day is designed to connect the public with the boating world. The 2025 edition saw over 100 events across 18 countries and reached an audience of more than 21 million people. Organisers say the 2026 event will be its most ambitious yet, further expanding the reach and impact around the world.

The foundation explains that World Boating Day aims to bridge the gap between the industry and the wider public by showcasing the craftsmanship, innovation, and people behind the boats, and highlighting career opportunities in the sector. It also serves as a platform to amplify the visibility and voice of the boating community.

Dilan Saraç, executive director of The Superyacht Life Foundation, comments: “What happens behind the scenes of our world is far more human and inspiring than most people realise.

“World Boating Day is our chance to open the doors, invite people in and share the sense of community, innovation and unique culture that keeps us all so passionate about what we do.”

The 2026 edition will introduce several new initiatives to deepen engagement. Educational institutions and maritime museums will join the participants, and regional hubs in key boating markets will be established to support organisers in planning and delivering events.

Participation in World Boating Day 2026 is open to all sectors of the boating and yachting industry, including shipyards, marinas, destinations, design studios, and suppliers.

The event is billed as an opportunity for brands to increase visibility, attract new talent and engage with worldwide audiences.

“World Boating Day has become an essential platform for us,” says Stefano de Vivo, president of SYL and executive chairman of WOSA, a participating shipyard.

“Not only are we showcasing our products, but also building credibility, meeting the next generation of talent and sharing our world with a global audience,” he adds.
