Dockmate has launched the Dockmate PRO, its latest wireless remote-control system to provide more precise handling and safety features for yachts and multi-engine vessels.
The Dockmate PRO introduces proportional control through a new lever system that allows operators to modulate engine and thruster power – replacing traditional on/off commands. The system aims to replicate the feel of manual throttles, offering better control during docking and close-range manoeuvring.
Each control level is built with dual independent magnetic and capacitive channels, creating a redundancy to maintain operation if one channel fails. The design mirrors safety principles typically used in aviation.
The remote features a two-inch sunlight-readable black and white LCD for system status, configuration and alarms. Dual RGB LEDs provide at-a-glance system health indicators, while an integrated light sensor automatically adjusts screen and keypad brightness based on ambient lighting conditions.
Additional dedicated buttons enable quick access to Dynamic Positioning System (DPS) activation, control mode changes, and system handover. The remote also includes a ‘stop’ button for immediate shutdown and an internal accelerometer halts commands if the device (which is designed to float) is dropped, intended to prevent unintended propulsion.
The remote control operates for up to 24 hours on a single charge and supports Qi wireless charging, removing the need for external ports and cables. It also offers an operating range of approximately 50 meters and carries an IP67 waterproof rating.
Marc Curreri, CEO, Dockmate US, explains: “The Dockmate PRO isn’t just a new product in our lineup; it’s a remote that redefines expectations.
“It seamlessly combines redundant safety, intuitive control and smart environmental sensing in a sleek, durable package that empowers boaters like never before. We’re confident that operators will find no box left unchecked when taking advantage of all of the innovations featured in this remote.”
