Marine safety and navigation technology firm Daniamant has launched the AQ-4 MKII strobe light. This latest product is designed to deliver underwater visibility and improved safety for professional maritime, naval and offshore operations.
The new strobe light marks an advancement in personal safety lighting, featuring a high-intensity flashing LED strobe that, according to Daniament, offers ‘unparalleled levels of underwater visibility’, particularly during nighttime or low-light conditions.
The firm emphasises that flashing strobes, in comparison to steady light sources, are proven to be more effective for human detection over long distances.
Designed for versatility and ease of use, the AQ-4 MKII can be mounted on lifejackets, diving equipment and survival suits. It is intended for use in extreme weather, darkness and rough sea conditions, with the aim of supporting faster and more accurate search and rescue operations.
Kevin Rough, Daniamant CEO, comments: “When you’re underwater, visibility is your lifeline – and the AQ-4 MKII is built to protect it.
“Our goal is to set a new global benchmark for maritime safety. We know that our customers rely on us when lives are at stake, and this product is a testament to our commitment to innovation and reliability.”
The product has been developed alongside maritime professionals and built to meet international safety standards, fully certified under SOLAS, MED and USCG regulations. It has also been assigned a NATO Stock Number (NSN), representing its suitability for military use.
The light delivers up to eight hours of full-intensity operation, activates automatically on contact with water to reduce human error and is waterproof to 500 metres.
In terms of durability, the AQ-4 MKII resists corrosion, freezing temperatures and physical impacts while requiring minimal maintenance.
This news follows the launch of the firm’s FLS 3D-30 Degrees, its latest forward-looking sonar (FLS), earlier this year.
The AQ-4 MKII is now available worldwide and can be purchased through Daniamant’s authorised distributor network.
