Aqua superPower has installed a DC 75kW marine fast charger at Marina Genova, Genoa’s historic port, to drive electric boating along the Italian Ligurian coast.

The charger was launched to coincide with the Genoa Boat Show (18-23 September 2025). It now complements recent installations at Marina di Loana – a DC 75kW unit and an AC 22kW station – expanding the electric boating network and infrastructure from the French Riviera to Liguria.

“The installation of Aqua superPower’s fast charger at Marina Genova is a pivotal step in electrifying Liguria’s coastline,” says Dario Sirtori, deployment manager Italy for Aqua superPower.

The initiative supports eco-conscious navigation through protected areas, including the UNESCO-listed Cinque Terre National Park and Portofino. Sirtori adds: “This project not only enhances sustainable boating in the Cinque Terre National Park and Portofino but also strengthens the region’s role as a pioneer in eco-friendly maritime innovation.”

The strategic location of Marina Genova, near Genoa’s airport, also improves accessibility for day trippers.

Giuseppe Salamanca, chief of operations at Marina Genova, comments: This collaboration with Aqua superPower is a game-changer for sustainable boating in Liguria. The new charging station not only supports cleaner navigation but also positions Genoa as a leader in the global transition to electric maritime transport.”
