Tankoa Yachts has announced the acquisition of Otam’s business division, marking a significant step in the boutique shipyard’s ongoing expansion strategy. The agreement, reached with the two founding families, transfers ownership of the Genoa shipyard and the Otam brand to Tankoa, while dockyard operations in Santa Margherita Ligure will remain under the current owners.
The move builds on Tankoa’s growth plans outlined earlier in 2025. The Otam site encompasses around 4,800sqm of covered facilities, 3,300sqm of open-air space and a 10,000sqm water basin, with workshops and infrastructure. Tankoa intends to implement a comprehensive restructuring and modernisation programme, including extending concessions, consolidating existing areas, and constructing new production sheds to align with its evolving operational needs.
Earlier in 2025, Tankoa also made two senior appointments to its internal team.

As the Otam brand becomes part of Tankoa’s portfolio, the Otam workforce is being integrated into the Tankoa Yachts team, which the boatbuilders say will ensure job continuity and strengthen the Tankoa team.
