New Zealand-based ZeroJet has announced the development of its new electric RIB package, combining ZeroJet’s latest integrated jet propulsion system with the AB Inflatables Lammina AL platform.
According to ZeroJet, the package introduces a high-performance and cost-effective electric tender option, thanks to its Gen-3 tiller steer jet drive and AB Inflatables’ lightweight aluminium hulls.
ZeroJet’s CEO, James Morton, explains: “We saw a market need for a more accessible electric tender – one that could deliver outstanding performance at a more competitive price point. The Lammina AL is a perfect match for our Gen-3 tiller steer system because it’s incredibly lightweight and efficient. This combination allows us to offer a compelling option that performs exceptionally well, even when loaded with people or gear, all while being a cost-effective choice for the cruising market.”
Powered by a 15kW electric jet equivalent to a 20hp outboard, the system runs on two 2.7kWh semi-solid state LiPo4 batteries with redundancy built into its 48V dual-pack architecture. At just 180kg including batteries, the 11 AL offers a range of up to 26 nautical miles, with options to extend cruising at 12 knots, adding two range-extending batteries.
ZeroJet offer a 3-year jet and battery warranty with no service required during this time period. The design of the rear jet box results in more space for storage onboard.
“We are delighted to see ZeroJet bringing this product to market on our well-established hull platform,” says Jaime Cristancho, global marketing and sales manager at AB Inflatables.
“The ZeroJet system is a perfect match for our boats. It allows customers to experience the best of our hulls with a powerful and reliable propulsion system that adds a new dimension of safety and shallow-water capability. This initiative expands the options available to our customers, and we’re excited to see the market’s response,” adds Cristancho.
The ZeroJet-powered AB Inflatables RIB will be available, before the end of the year, through authorised AB Inflatables and ZeroJet dealers with an initial launch focused on the US and European markets.
This collaboration follows the recently announced partnership between ZeroJet and Pochon to expand its European footprint.
