Leading synthetic teak decking manufacturer, Flexiteek, has announced its Flexiteek 3.5mm range, featuring an innovative 3M tape system (making it lighter and easier to install), will be featured on AST’s high-performance carbon tender at Southampton Boat Show and Metstrade 2025.
Visitors to the Southampton International Boat Show (19–28 September 2025) will be the first to see an AST semi-custom carbon tender fitted with Flexiteek’s 3.5mm range, showcased on the Flexiteek International stand. This latest version incorporates an innovative 3M tape system. According to Flexiteek, the new 3M tape system with Flexiteek’s 3.5mm range eliminates the need for adhesive curing, reducing installation time and overall vessel weight, a significant advantage for performance-focused designs.
The partnership will then also be showcased at Metstrade in Amsterdam (18–20 November 2025).
Adam Ramsden, who took over the role of CEO at Flexiteek Group in March 2025, says: “We are delighted to be able to showpiece Flexiteek on the AST Tender, using an innovative application 3M tape. This can now be offered in certain applications as an alternative to traditional adhesives. The 3M tape can provide weight savings and a faster installation time, and is especially suited for smaller surface areas.”
In 2024, the third-generation Flexiteek product was launched at Metstrade and gained a prestigious DAME award nomination. The new range is made using a bio-attributed PVC, removing fossil-fuel-based PVC for the first time. Flexiteek 3 also claims enhanced heat performance and comes in 15 colours.
