Henri-Lloyd has returned to the US market with the appointment of Big Weather Gear as its US retail partner.
Although Henri-Lloyd has been available online in the USA, and corporate (B2B) customers and teams were still able to buy Henri-Lloyd apparel through the Henri-Lloyd Corporate Sales Team, the British marine clothing brand has now established an official USA base at Big Weather Gear, an active lifestyle store on Thames Street, formerly known as Helly Hansen Newport.
The store, owned by Jay Lasky for more than 30 years, was recently expanded to broaden its premium brand selection. Big Weather Gear also provides services for businesses and teams to purchase corporate and branded clothing.
Henri-Lloyd will offer sailing apparel and lifestyle clothing, including foul-weather jackets, rugby shirts and knitwear. The products are described as combining technical performance with everyday use.
Jay Lasky, owner of Big Weather Gear, says: “Henri-Lloyd is one of the most iconic names in sailing and bringing it back to Newport feels like the perfect homecoming. Our customers have been asking for gear that blends true performance with timeless style, and Henri-Lloyd delivers exactly that — from the deck of a racing yacht to the docks of Thames Street.”

The partnership was finalised in August 2025. Henri-Lloyd products are now available online at BigWeatherGear.com, with an in-store launch planned for summer 2026 at Big Weather Gear’s flagship location at 154 Thames Street.
As a preview, the collection will be presented at the Newport International Boat Show from 11-14 September 2025, where attendees can view products and access special online pricing during the event.
Henri-Lloyd was founded in Manchester, England in 1963. James Tinkler, international sales manager at Henri-Lloyd, says: “Henri-Lloyd was established over six decades ago from our home town in Manchester, which is still our company headquarters, and has always been a desired and successful brand in the US.
“Re-establishing a strong online and physical retail presence in the USA through Big Weather Gear is a fantastic opportunity. We’re delighted this has all been agreed just in time to make the most of the Newport Boat Show, which will enable the latest Henri-Lloyd apparel to be shown to thousands of keen boaters.”
The brand was acquired in 2022 by the Monte Rosa Sport Group, based in Oslo, Norway. In August, Henri-Lloyd announced the appointment of Chris Hammond as its new CEO, effective from 1 October 2025.
