Princess Yachts, Britain’s largest yacht builder, announced yesterday at Cannes an expansion of its model range with several new launches across multiple classes.
These are being presented at international boat shows, including this and next year’s Cannes Yachting Festival, the upcoming Monaco Yacht Show and boot Düsseldorf 2026.
The news comes weeks after the boatbuilder averted strike action, after workers at its Plymouth factory secured a 6.5 per cent pay rise.
The Princess C48, set to be available in 2027, marks the company’s entry into the centre‑console sector (C Class) and is its first outboard‑powered model.
The C48 is a collaboration between naval architect Michael Peters, Bernard Olesinski Limited and Princess’ in‑house team led by Andy Lawrence. At its core is Peters’ patented Stepped Vee Ventilated Tunnel (SVVT) hull, designed to reduce drag and improve speed, fuel economy and stability.
The model will be available as either the Open or the Deck Saloon, with a choice of three propulsion options: triple Mercury V10 400hp Verado outboards (44–46 knots), triple Mercury V12 600hp Verado outboards (52–54 knots) or twin Volvo D6‑480 inboard diesels (32–34 knots).
The Open features a full open main deck with aft sunpad, multiple seating options and exterior galley, while the Deck Saloon variant has an enclosed lounge and galley, sliding doors and an optional roof opening. Both layouts include accommodation on the lower deck.
Will Green, chief executive officer of Princess Yachts, says: “The introduction of the C48 marks a defining moment for Princess, representing our bold entry into an entirely new sector. This new yacht embodies freedom, excitement, and pure performance, while setting the stage for a thrilling new chapter for our smaller models.
“By uniting the extraordinary talents of Michael Peters, our long‑standing partners at BOL, and our own design team led by Andy Lawrence, we have created a yacht that combines the very best of hydrodynamic engineering, exterior beauty, and interior elegance. The C48 is not only a new direction for Princess – it also represents a new standard for the centre‑console market.”
The company also announced a new digital tool for yacht configuration, described as a fully immersive 3D configurator, which is debuting at Cannes and Monaco. The new tool allows owners and prospective buyers to explore layouts across decks, customise finishes, colours, paint, lighting and furniture, and view these choices in real‑time or cinematic renderings. Animations show features in motion, from submerging bathing platforms to rising televisions. Users can ultimately generate a personalised film of their configuration.
Green says: “The launch of our immersive 3D configurator marks a major milestone not only for Princess but for the yacht industry as a whole. For the first time, clients can step inside a fully interactive representation of their yacht, tailoring every detail to their vision. It is an inspiring, engaging, and enjoyable way to explore their yacht as they commission it and reflects our dedication to innovation, personalisation, and creating experiences that are as unique as our yachts.”
The Princess F58 is also making its debut at the Cannes Yachting Festival this week. Positioned between the F55 and F65, the F58 offers extensive flybridge and exterior deck space, including a large aft dining area with wet bar and a foredeck terrace with sunpads and optional cool box.
The lower deck includes three cabins: a forward VIP, a twin convertible cabin and a full‑beam owner’s stateroom with ensuite and walk‑in wardrobe. An optional aft crew cabin can also be specified. The F58 can be fitted with MAN V8‑1000 or V8‑1200 engines for speeds of up to 34 knots. It is also the first Princess below 80ft to offer a silent running/hotel services battery option.
Princess’ latest launches include the Princess V65, also premiering at Cannes. With a resin-infused deep-V hull and twin MAN V12-1400 engines, it reaches 36 knots with a 550nm range. The main deck includes a galley, dinette, saloon and helm, while below deck four cabins sleep eight, including a full-beam owner’s suite. Exterior highlights include a foredeck retreat, cockpit dining, a tender garage and electro-hydraulic bathing platform. Princess Connect, the brand’s telemetry and maintenance system, is standard.
The Princess F54, due to launch at boot Düsseldorf 2027, replaces the F50 with greater length and beam, new layouts and a hardtop option. Powered by twin Volvo D13-900 engines for speeds of up to 34 knots, it features a redesigned aft deck, reconfigured foredeck and flexible flybridge with dining, helm and storage.
Princess also revealed details of the Princess X90, set to hit the water early next year and premiere at Cannes in 2026, which sits between the X80 and X95 Vista. It is the first Princess with drop-down cockpit balconies.
Features include glass balustrades, curved patio doors, a saloon surrounded by glazing, and a full-beam main deck owner’s suite with optional private foredeck access. The flybridge includes an enclosed skylounge, wheelhouse and multiple aft layout choices from spa bath to tender storage. Below deck, three ensuite cabins are standard with the option for five, plus crew accommodation forward. Depending on engines, the X90 will be able to reach 28 knots.
